Maigualida (Maia) Rak /my gwah lee dah/, Professor Universidad Simon Bolivar, Caracas, Venezuela and a Master’s degree in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) from Saint Michael’s College, is a skilled, published, Native Spanish Instructor and English professor. She is a classroom Action Researcher with 36 years dedicated experience imparting lessons to a variety of ages, levels and language competencies. Teaching in Vermont for the past 8 years.
Maigualida is creative and resourceful in coordinating and implementing arts-infused and objective-driven Spanish and English programs.

Spanish Language Immersion
A language immersion method is applied from the first minute of the session which is proven to be the most effective way to learn a new language, both for adult learners as well as for kids. I accommodate different learning styles, age groups, and abilities.This creates a friendly environment where it is okay to jump right in without worrying about making mistakes.
The experience I’ve acquired allows me to guarantee the rapid achievement of high levels of language proficiency and effectiveness for enrolled students across a wide age spectrum spanning from childhood all the way through seniority. Audiovisual activities, movies, art, books, music, and culture are skillfully mixed in with the formal learning of the language, while the tools being used are constantly being adapted to the situation at hand.
The textbook is used to teach the grammatical structure of the content. This textbook is used along with interactive grammar and reading exercises. All course levels are structured in the following way: 30% is allocated to learning grammatical structures, and 70% is dedicated to reinforcing listening and speaking skills. This is done through communicative interactive activities, using a conversational approach in a friendly and fun way.
